Why BARC?

BARC's (Black Animal Rescue Coalition) inception was due to an overwhelming need and a compelling desire.

A Need to create support for the millions of black coated animals that languish in US shelters on a regular basis.

Potential pets, rehabilitation animals overlooked due to antiquated beliefs and superstitions. These same animals

are often the first to be euthanized.

This phenomenon has been coined 'Black Dog/Cat/Animal Syndrome.  

A Desire to stimulate dialog  and create awareness for their plight.

At BARC, we imagine that the current statistics will change and rescued animals will be adopted on their own merit and for the unique brand of love each will bring to their 'forever homes'.
